The Prince Philip prize
for Australian design ’68
Design: Arthur Leydin
Date: 1968

Though uncredited, this tightly gridded advertisement was most likely the work of Arthur Leydin, who was responsible for the promotional material for the award scheme. The Prince Philip Prize ‘was established to recognise the development of products or systems of original Australian design, able to contribute to the nation’s economic progress’. 1968 was the first year of the prize, sponsored by the Industrial Design Council of Australia.
